Banff Horseback Riding

Good experience overall. The food was amazing.

Great scenery! Horses well behaved. Would definitely recommend! Weather was a little wet, so wear boots! Was lucky enough to see a herd of Elk on the mountain.

While visiting Banff we came across this activity that included a Covered Wagon Ride and a Western Cookout, and it turned out to be definitely worthwhile. Communication and Instruction from the Operator prior to the day were very clear and concise. The meeting time and location was very clear. When we arrived the Staff was very helpful in getting us signed-in. Then we got on the Wagon with our two Rider Driver’s, Will and Tom! Both are very professional in their job, but at the same time they also provided some great insights about the area. They also kept things lighthearted and fun throughout the journey! Definitely recommend Banff Trail Rides and if you can get Tom and/or Will as Guides, even better :). Thank you Banff Trail Riders and Will & Tom!!!

What a fun way to see the park! Sophie and Grace were awesome, both super friendly and knowledgeable. The herd is well taken care of and well behaved, it was a 5 star experience all around thank you!!

Had the best hours ride on the lovely Tes he was a beauty I would have liked to have done longer but couldn’t fit it in I do have experience but you can do this ride with no experience as the guides are great Really good is that the horses all go for a long holiday over the winter so they are well rested and looked after

Our guide Marnie gave a running commentary as we rode, was very informative, with lots of interesting information and the trail had beautiful views of the scenery. All very safe and well organized

Wonderful ride including twice through the Spray River. Highly recommended. Park in the Fairmint carpark and get your parking validated at the stable .

Fabulous ride with horses that are exceedingly well trained and very friendly staff. Huge shout out to my lovely steed Edward. Who managed to convert me to loving thoroughbreds. What a smashing horse!

This 4-day trip was amazing; it was the perfect length! The laughs my family had on this trip with the staff were incredible, laugh so hard your belly hurts! Our guide, Grace, was very knowledgeable, upbeat and really cared about our safety/comfort while riding. The food at the lodges was amazing as well as the staff that cooked for us. the staff sure know how to host and entertain! The whole trip there were magnificent views that you could not get elsewhere; mountains, river trails, through the forest, overseeing valleys, etc. The lodges had the most "private, get away" experience you could think of. It truly felt like you in mountain paradise. And to top it off the horses were just the sweetest as can be! Every one of them were well trained and made me feel safe throughout the whole trip. I think as a whole group, we learned this is so much more than a horseback riding trip...we learned all the hard work that the staff put into making this such a memorable experience for the riders. I will definitely be bringing friends/family back to experience this! Very dearly miss my horse and our guide back home!!!!

Trip of a lifetime from start to finish. Three glorious days of riding and 2 nights at the stunning sundance lodge. From start to finish it was amazing. The scenery / trail / rivers were all breathtaking, the horses are stunning and so sure footed over mountain tracks. All staff were amazing, Gen our guide, Jared and Riley ranch cowboys looked after horses and mules (and us) and the amazing hosts / cooks at the lodge Megan and others, all so lovely great company and looked after us so well. We were in a group of 6, all apart from my husband were experienced riders, all like minded lovely people who appreciated the trip of a lifetime It was perfect in every way. Thank you

The experience my family had at Banff Trail Riders was probably the highlight of our trip. Everyone was really well looked after and it really felt like a premium experience.On day 1 we they got us quickly and safely on the horses and we were off. I was at the front and got chatting to our guide Jen for the first leg which was really lovely. We stopped for lunch where we treated to fresh drinks, snacks and even some steak. All of the guides and people we interacted with were friendly and kind.At the end of day 1 we were greeted by a beautiful ranch in the middle of the mountains. It was a stunning place with nice amenities. We were treated to another delicious meal before we had the opportunity to learn some lassoing, feed the horses and have some marshmallow round a fireplace.On Day 2 we set off and had a picturesque return back to the stables, we could not have asked for better weather and conditions and the horses got us all back in one piece.A massive thank you to our two guides, Jen and Harley, who were incredibly, insightful, supportive and genuinely helpful. They really made the experience second-to-none and we can't thank them enough. The other people in our group were also very friendly and it was great to get to know them.This is a must-do when in Banff and we cannot recommend Banff Trail Riders enough. Thank you Jen and Harley!!

Excellent communication from the outset (what to wear, timings, location etc). We had a hire car and there is parking. It’s not far from downtown Banff. We were warmly welcomed, given a helmet and weighed. There are washrooms on site. The horses were all very well cared for. It is western style riding. It was a beautiful sunny day (that always makes for a better outdoor experience). In the two hours, we covered lots of ground. Following the Bow River at first, then a little uphill, then downhill. The scenery is beautiful)surrounded by mountains). We did not see any bears (but apparently the guides do see them regularly). The trail was a bit muddy in places but the horses coped very well. We would recommend this ride out. Special thank you to Phoebe, our guide.

This was a fun outing with the beautiful horses and the personable young men who handled the horses. Highly recommend this activity.

We really enjoyed this excursion. Both of the trail guides were from Australia were highly entertaining, very charming and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time. Lunch was outstanding. Our steak was cooked perfectly to order and everything about the setting was very enjoyable with Holly recommend.

First time on a horse and I loved it. Horses are well trained and the staff are very through with their instruction and checks. The trek is through the woods, up the mountain and then back along the riverbank. Needless to say that the scenery is stunning. We saw some Elk In the woods. I would definitely recommend this trip.
