Beyond Banff - great small local tour company!
We had a tour with Beyond Banff (a small local tour company) in mid-September and it was SUCH a great experience. Our tour guide, Quaid, is a born-and-raised local and knows Banff inside and out, experience that can't be replicated. Our tour was full of interesting local history, ecology, and the best places to get photos. He also had the best washroom recommendations for bathroom breaks, an important detail on a 9-hour day! We visited the highlights, of course, (Lake Louise, Moraine Lake), and the tour company also added a few other stops that were a little more off the beaten path (and thus a little quieter and less busy). It was so much easier and less stressful than doing all the driving ourselves. Throughout the whole trip, Quaid was professional, a great driver, and was very personable and entertaining. He also gave us several ideas for quieter and less busy hikes on our last day in the area. Highly recommend Quaid and Beyond Banff for your trip to the area!

Fantastic trip from Jasper down the beautiful Icefields parkway. Although it was a long day, our guide Aloo made sure we had plenty of stops to break up the journey. He also struck the perfect balance between providing commentary and giving people a break. He was an extremely personable and organised host and probably our favourite guide of our whole trip (and we have taken a lot of tours over the last 3 weeks!). The bus was comfortable and we had snacks, drinks and lunch on board. The visit to the glacier and skywalk were fun although it was a bit of a faff taking different buses but that wasn't down to Sundog who provided first class door to door service.

We had a fantastic 7 night / 8 day tour of Western Canada Iconic Sites during early September.Corey our guide and driver was excellent and how he manages to combine both is amazing. He made the tour very enjoyable with his local knowledge,his quirky humour and military precision organisation !! Our group of 13 were from 6 different countries and this small group scenario was a bonus on the tour. We have many happy memories from the trip. Our family had an absolutely amazing time. Our tour guide (Ian) and driver (Richard) were fantastic. The group of people on the tour were from Australia, New Zealand, UK and US and were very respectful and a pleasure to travel with. The scenery throughout the Rocky's was stunning. Our tour took us to all the right places and allowed the right amount of time at each. We were the only family with children (8, 11 and 14) and the guide was great at engaging with them as well. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone considering it.

Last Wednesday, September 16th, I had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on the Icefields Parkway Small Group Tour with Peyto Lake with Radventures.Before the trip, I had heard that the Icefields Parkway is considered one of the most spectacular scenic drives in the world. After experiencing it, I can certainly understand why. The scenery along the route is simply incredible, with mountains, glaciers, lakes, and valleys around virtually every bend.We started the morning with very foggy conditions, and at first it wasn't clear how much we would actually be able to see. Our guide, Gareth, made a smart decision to adjust the itinerary and visit Peyto and Bow Lakes later in the day, giving the weather some time to improve. It turned out to be the right call — the skies cleared beautifully, and we had excellent conditions for the rest of the tour.The highlights included the Athabasca Glacier, the spectacular scenery along the Parkway, and visits to the stunning Peyto Lake and Bow Lake. Each stop offered something different, and the changing scenery along the drive was just as impressive as the destinations themselves.Gareth was an excellent guide — knowledgeable about the area and attentive to the group, making sure everyone was accounted for and enjoying the experience.For a first-time visitor to Banff and the Canadian Rockies, this is an excellent way to experience the Icefields Parkway without having to drive yourself.Highly recommended — an unforgettable day and one of the highlights of my Banff trip!

Their positive vibe and willingness to help everyone was outstanding. ​We didn't have the easiest start: the first two days brought rain and rough weather, but thanks to their support and infectious attitude, it didn't even dampen our spirits. Then the skies cleared, and we were blessed with perfect conditions for the rest of the journey! ​We can't thank Lili and Aurelien enough for always being there, sharing fascinating insights along the trails, and going the extra mile. I booked the 7-days trip through Banff, Jasper, Waterton and Drumheller.To start it off, it's a bilingual tour in English and Mandarin. I didn't mind that at all, but there was an English-speaking woman on my tour that kept complaining about that, so be aware of that.The airport pick-up worked well and I had no issues. The Best Western Premier Hotel is located near a lot of supermarkets and food shops, so you will find something within a 10 min walk. It was a pretty good hotel in my opinion. The Mount Royal Hotel and Canalta Lodge in Banff were pretty good too. With the later being a bit further from the town center, but still within walking distance in my opinion. I didn't really like the Tonqin Inn in Jasper, as I thought it was too noisy. You could hear everyone. But I would say over all the hostel selection was very good!Your tour guide and potentially your group changes depending on the trip. I had a total of four guides. Kan, Patrick, Rogers and Sonya. Kan did an amazing job, in my opinion. He gave a enough information and good recommendations. He even helped me out when I had some communication issue, which I absolutely appreciate! I had a good talk with Rogers and Sonya is like a very bubbly and lively guide. Overall I think all of them did a good job and I was able to see and learn some new things thanks to them! All of them also offered to take pictures of you. And we took some additional stops when we had the time and saw a beautiful scenery!The itinerary was in my opinion good and well thought out! I got to see a lot of different things and had an over all great experience!

This is a looong day…. Especially if you’re traveling from Calgary. But all the stops were great. Our driver was good at making decisions appropriate for timing sites and stops, and did not leave anyone behind. However he was not much of a guide, he did not offer any info during the drive or any sites. We skipped Herbert lake and went to Waterfowl lake instead due to the crowd. We had 3 hours at the Columbia Icefield discovery center, which was not enough if you were going to have lunch, go for the ice explorer and skywalk. I ate in 20 minutes, had my tickets booked so got in line right away, spent hardly 5 minutes at the skywalk but I barely made it back in time. But our driver had to wait more than 30 minutes anyway for everyone to get back on the bus.
