Banff Walking Tours

The Banff Kananaskis Bear Country Wildlife Focused Guided Hike with our guide, Tibor, was awesome! We learned so much from him and really enjoyed the experience.One thing to understand about this tour is that it is focused on learning how to look for signs of wildlife while hiking, rather than primarily going out in search of animals. Tibor does drive you around to see if you can spot wildlife, but seeing animals is not guaranteed. We were lucky enough to see some sheep and a moose while driving.During the hike, we learned about the different signs that can indicate bear activity. Fortunately, we didn't encounter any bears during our hike! However, what we learned with Tibor really changed the way we looked at the trail. The next day, while hiking on our own, we noticed what looked like bear diggings along the trail. Before our tour with Tibor, we would have had no idea what to look for.He taught us to recognize signs such as bear diggings, scat, disturbed vegetation, stripped bark on trees, and carcasses. Before this experience, we would have simply been looking for the bears themselves!We would definitely book another tour with Tibor if we return to the Banff area. It was a fun, educational experience, and we came away with a much better understanding of how to recognize wildlife activity while hiking. Mel & Lisa

Highly recommend this fun and personalized food tour! Joanna is a pleasure and truly made this tour so fun! I took my 8 year old you prefers not to eat meat, my 12 year old who is an adventurous eater, and my 72 year old mother who doesn’t eat red meat. Joanna handled all of these preferences seamlessly! Each restaurant was better than the next, and the whole tour went off without a hitch! Don’t miss Joanna’s tour, and if possible, take it early in your trip so you can take advantage of all her awesome restaurant recommendations!

Really interesting and enlightening walk. Our tour guide was amazing and really elevated our experience. The walk was not difficult, so suitable for young families and made for a chilled and relaxed afternoon.

It was a little hard to get used to initially, but once I got the hang of it it was a great introduction to Banff. Nice inexpensive way to get to know the town and it's history

I bought the Guide Along App for the Candian Rockies and it was well worth it. The narrator gave very easy, clear instructions how to get to main attractions and some we would never have known about. He told history about the mountains are area things. Was very informative. It covered all areas we were in on our trip. Since there is no radio stations that come in or internet in mountain areas you mise well listen to him tell you about things and how to get there.

If you are into historical homes and buildings this is a fun walk around the town. The entire trip was about 4 miles, with only a little bit of elevation change.

Good descriptions, but it would have been very helpful to have had a map with the streets. One map, all the stop buttons, but not helpful to be sure we were in the right place. Like the concept and would use again in another city.

The tour was interesting but due to the -19 temperatures we were trying to drive instead of walk so we missed quite a bit. Will definitely try again in the summer months.
