Banff Winter Day Tour: Lake Louise & Abraham Lake Ice Bubbles
Overview
Explore Banff National Park and the Canadian Rockies on a guided winter day tour from Calgary or Banff, offered on Cool Banff in January and February. Spend approximately two hours at Lake Louise Ski Resort, where you can enjoy the snowy mountain scenery or add skiing, snow tubing, a sightseeing gondola ride or a private lesson at extra cost.
The itinerary also plans a visit to Abraham Lake for a chance to photograph its methane bubbles frozen beneath the ice. The lake visit and bubble visibility depend on weather, road and ice conditions and cannot be guaranteed. An optional helicopter flight offers another view of the Rockies for an additional fee. If Lake Louise Ski Resort is closed, a scenic drive along the Icefields Parkway with stops at Bow Lake and Peyto Lake replaces the resort stop.
