What To Expect
We'll embark on a little known and spectacular ridge hike that starts from the top of the Banff Gondola. It's a fantastic way to combine the Banff Gondola experience with something a little more adventurous!
The Sulphur Mountain Highline hike is not a walking tour; it requires average to good fitness and has some short sections of off trail, loose and exposed terrain. It is still a great experience for guests looking at a unique and easy access alpine experience. Follow the red line on our website to see the full route at AAA.
After taking in the views, we'll step off the beaten path and begin our hike. As we make our way along the ridge, we'll transition from tree line to alpine hiking terrain, through subalpine forests, limestone slabs and high mountain scree slopes. The views are astounding and keep getting better as we go further - you can see the Sundance range, the high peaks of Lake Louise, Mt Assiniboine, and.the town of Banff far below.
When we get back to the Gondola station, you will be free to enjoy all the amenities of this state-of-the-art facility, including mountaintop dining and a great interpretive center.
